Subject: This is an excellent recording!
Subject: This is an excellent recording!
Searching for an excellent Audience recording of this almost perfect show? You've found it here. This David Dyche audience recording is like a top notch matrix--the sound is clean and clear, no boominess or echo, the audience is there but quickly fades whenever the music starts, and the vocals come through as clear as on any SBD or Matrix...what more can you ask?
This is one of those rare shows when every song was played well, and several of them almost perfectly: listen to the versions of 'Crazy Fingers', 'Big River', or 'High Time'. Even songs like 'Throwing Stones' or 'Beat it On Down The Line' are stoked to new levels, with Jerry's guitar blazing out inventive and unexpected lines throughout the entire show. 82/9/21 was just one of the six chosen for the boxed set, 'In And Out Of The Garden' ...featuring Madison Square Garden shows from three consecutive years--'81, '82, & '83--which won the Grateful Dead a Grammy Award! Listen to this and you'll undersand why.
As the great reviewer, 'Doctor Flashback' would have said, 'Don't Miss This!'
